Primesafe PAT Testing Limited
1. Definitions
1.1 “The Company” means Primesafe PAT Testing Ltd.
1.2 “The Client” means the individual, business, landlord, care provider, or organisation instructing the Company to provide services.
1.3 “Services” means Portable Appliance Testing (PAT), inspection, reporting, labelling, and associated electrical safety services carried out by the Company.
1.4 “Site” means the premises at which the Services are provided.
2. Minimum Charge and Pricing
2.1 A minimum service charge of £49.00 applies to all bookings within a three (3) mile radius of Great Yarmouth.
2.2 The minimum charge includes inspection and testing of up to twenty (20) portable appliances at a single Site during one visit.
2.3 Appliances exceeding twenty (20) items will be charged at the agreed per-item rate.
2.4 The minimum charge applies regardless of the number of appliances available for testing at the time of attendance.
2.5 Sites located beyond a three (3) mile radius may incur additional travel charges, which will be agreed in advance.
3. Scope of Services
3.1 Testing is carried out in accordance with the current edition of the IET Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment and relevant UK legislation.
3.2 Services include:
• Formal visual inspection
• Electrical testing using calibrated PAT testing equipment
• Application of Pass or Fail labels
• Digital asset register and certification
• Minor fuse replacement where safe and appropriate
3.3 The Company reserves the right to refuse to test any equipment deemed unsafe, unsuitable, damaged, or inaccessible at the time of attendance.
3.4 Testing confirms the electrical safety condition of equipment at the time of inspection only and does not guarantee continued performance or future compliance.
4. Client Responsibilities
4.1 The Client shall ensure that all equipment to be tested is accessible and prepared for inspection at the agreed appointment time.
4.2 The Client must provide a safe working environment in accordance with applicable Health and Safety legislation.
4.3 The Company shall not be liable for delays, incomplete testing, or additional charges resulting from restricted access or unprepared equipment.
4.4 Responsibility for ongoing maintenance of equipment remains with the Client.
5. Certification and Reporting
5.1 Upon completion of the Services, a digital report and certification will be issued detailing the results of inspection and testing.
5.2 Certification reflects the condition of equipment at the time of testing only.
5.3 Reports are issued electronically unless otherwise agreed in writing.
6. Payment Terms
6.1 Payment is due upon completion of the Services unless alternative terms have been agreed in writing.
6.2 The Company reserves the right to charge statutory interest and recovery costs on overdue accounts in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
6.3 All prices are exclusive of VAT unless otherwise stated.
7. Cancellations and Missed Appointments
7.1 Cancellations must be made at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the scheduled appointment.
7.2 Late cancellations or failure to provide access at the agreed time may result in a call-out charge equivalent to the minimum service fee.
7.3 The Company reserves the right to reschedule appointments due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
8. Liability
8.1 The Company maintains appropriate Public Liability Insurance.
8.2 The Company shall not be liable for:
• Pre-existing defects
• Equipment failure unrelated to the testing process
• Loss of business, revenue, or consequential losses
8.3 The Company’s total liability shall not exceed the value of the Services provided.
8.4 Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such liability cannot legally be excluded.
9. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
